** SUCCESS STORY: How A Successful Russian REALTOR Paid $100 To A Philippine Programmer To Work The Kansas City Market...

(Editor's Note: This following is a reprint of an e-mail sent to me by Iggy Dybal, a KC RE/MAX agent and Russian immigrant on how he used a Virtual Consultant from eLance.com to solve a marketing problem...)

Mr. Internet,

Just wanted to share with you this real life story about success on a marketing related project through eLance.com.

I had a very laborious and time consuming project of data inputting done from a pure text file of several thousand records into a comma-delimited format. I went to http://www.eLance.com and posted the project.

I found this guy in the Philippines for a very modest price ($100) who created the macros for me, formatted all the data, and also gave me the rights to the macros for consequent uses. I am not sure if I am going to use it myself in the future, but nice to know that I have these macros that can be used over and over again. He and I are now working on a couple of other projects.

I would highly recommend eLance.com to anyone who has a project that requires expertise outside of his or her skill sets (e.g. designing a marketing campaign, technical questions on computer problems, compatibility of software/hardware) - virtually anything!

As a result of his story, Iggy has won a copy of the 2001 edition of ePOWER! PRO, the online success "bible" for real estate professionals ($129 value)! Congratulations Iggy!

Remember, submit your (real) success story to Mr. Internet at mailto:success_story@epowernews.com and if it shows up in this newsletter, you will win your own copy of ePOWER! PRO.

** ePOWER! TIP (AOL USERS): Finally --An Easy Way To Say Adios To AOL! ...

As any AOL user will tell you, the hardest part of leaving AOL is not being able to have your current AOL e-mail (you know, the address you spent years telling people about...) to automatically forwarded your new address. Getting people to start using your new address was a *very* tedious process. When AOL has you, they want you for life!

But not anymore! Thanks to a great new service called Re- Route.com you can have your AOL e-mail (or any other for that matter) forwarded *automatically* to your new e-mail address *and* a "change of address" notice will also be sent back to the sender so they can make note of your changed address. All without you lifting a finger --very, very cool!

You can currently get this service for $25 per 3-months use. Hold on though --I've negotiated a special "e-Bate™" with these folks so the first month use is free! Just go to this link http://www.re-route.com/realtor.html to take advantage of this savings. For the full press release, go to http://www.russer.com/press/re-route010521.pdf

Alas, parting is such sweet sorrow...

** VIRTUAL ASSISTANT NEWS: Staffcentrix Creates Special Section Just For REALTORS ...

Staffcentrix (http://www.staffcentrix.com), certainly one of the major virtual assistant portals on the Web has just announced a REALTOR-specific section of their site to help you find VAs who prefer to work with real estate professionals.

The URL for this special section can be found at http://www.staffcentrix.com/RE_spt.htm. You can also use their home page to do a keyword search to find that "just right" virtual person among over 1200 of their VA members.

If you are not using a virtual assistant and/or consultant to do those things that others can do (and probably better), then you are losing money and time. Most of all however, you are probably doing things that you would rather not be doing --a terrible waste of great living!

** MAIN ARTICLE: How To Manage Your E-mail For Competition- Killing Results With 1-Click Of A Button ...

Ever wish you had the magic response to send for almost every e- mail situation --and better yet, it took only one-click of your mouse to do it? This power is real and it is yours when you learn how to create e-mail templates to do most of the work for you. The beauty of using e-mail templates is that once you craft one as a perfect response for a specific situation, it can be used over and over again. To learn all the details just go to: http://www.russer.com/~ami/010515/dmri_01-05-15.html

Once you read this issue it will come as no surprise why highly successful online professionals like Chris Newell (http://www.new-all.com) employ dozens of e-mail templates in their online business. If you are not taking advantage of this incredible (and *free*) tool, your competition will soon be using it against, well, you know who.

** PARTING THOUGHTS: Fear Sucks (and other musings) ...

A couple of days ago I was on the phone with my personal coach and we both lamented on how big a bummer "fear" can be in our lives. He summed this up nicely with "... yeah, fear sucks!"

While certainly important for survival purposes, we human beings tend to use fear way beyond its intended purpose. Over-reaction, failure to try new things, not opening our hearts to others --all due to this thing we call "f-e-a-r".

It is my belief that the basis of *all* fear is essentially our survival instinct, (with emphasis on the word "instinct"). Yet in today's relatively safe society, we use fear to avoid many aspects of life that have nothing *rationally* to do with whether we will survive or not. And this is where we can find ourselves stopped and our lives limited.

My coach, (being the great coach he is), asked what is the opposite of "fear sucks", since that expression is hardly empowering and quite literally gives fear an even greater hold.

I'm not sure what the answer is, except perhaps acknowledging that certain parts of our humanity, primarily our ego or self- identity, will always experience fear. But also understanding that there is a much deeper part of our being that never knows or feels fear, because it is the part that is already perfect and never "dies". So perhaps "awareness" is the opposite of "fear sucks".

So what does all this have to do with how much real estate you are going to sell online this year --actually quite a bit! Online success requires one to be in a constant mode of learning, trying out new things (many of which do not at first work), and perhaps most importantly --letting go of your need to be "in control" with the Internet Empowered Consumer. (BTW, the need to be "in control" is exclusively within the domain of fear).

The most successful online professionals I know are not necessarily "fearless", they do however typically have a sense of wonder and playfulness that leaves no room for fear to take hold. So know that fear will always be among the shadows, but the with the light of knowing who you *really* are, you will scarcely notice!
