Dear Mr. Internet,

When I decided I needed assistance with my everyday office needs, Kim Hughes of Creative Business Concepts, a real estate virtual assistant, offered some great suggestions on how I could utilize my time better.

One of the tasks that I needed assistance with was having Kim take my calls while on vacation in Hawaii. Since I could not be reached by phone, I provided Kim with a cell phone. I opted to go with the national plan so all calls were to and from Kim were not considered long distance or roaming. By doing this I was able to forward all my office calls to the Kim’s cell phone.

Even though Kim lives in Texas and I live in Georgia, the arrangement was perfect! Kim was able to take the cell phone with her everywhere and was available to answer any calls that came in. Here is one example of how this arrangement worked.

I had a home for sale that an agent called about who had a buyer ready to sign the contract. This client was from out of town so we had to work fast. By forwarding my office calls, Kim was able to take the call in person, and locate the agent that was assisting me while I was gone. By utilizing the skills of Kim’s real estate background, she knew the importance of the call and knew what she needed to accomplish for me. Kim and the back-up agent were able to implement a deal for me so when I returned there was an offer on my desk that was accepted and ready to move forward.

On another occasion, Kim was handling my phones while I was attending a CyberStar Retreat last year in Las Vegas. Kim was again able to take the agent’s call and when I returned the house was sold.

By utilizing the experience and services Kim offered, I was able to have the Kim work for me behind the scenes.

Not bad for a quick respite from the daily grind! You go away, get recharged and find that it is more than paid for by the business your virtual staff helped take care of. And that is one of the big payoffs of having a virtual team, allowing you to do only what you love to do, make tons of money doing it, having the free time to enjoy the fruits of your success while others take care of the details —from a distance!
