REALTOR.com Leads The Virtual Pack ...
Just last June (2002) I was asked to meet with
Mike Long, the new CEO of Homestore, Inc., the
parent company of Realtor.com. What was supposed
to be only a half-hour cordial meeting turned into
a rather animated two-hour strategic session. Read
on to see how my one suggestion to their company
during that meeting launched a powerful new
initiative that will have profound and far
reaching impact for every one of their customers
(including you!). Typically, my articles for
REALTOR Magazine are in the "Ask Mr. Internet!"
format —not this month however. That is because
this special issue (that goes out to over 800,000
print edition readers) announces an extraordinary Realtor.com pilot program that involves the use
and special training of Virtual Assistants.
Specifically, the training of independent (i.e.
Homestore neither employs or controls them) VAs to
become expert in the setup and use of their iLead™
and XLerator™ products.
Now think about this for just a moment. Those
of you in the pilot regions (and eventually
everyone) can now hire a specially trained VA for
perhaps only an hour a week to set up, maintain,
differentiate, track, and overall substantially
increase your ROI (Return On Investment) on the
use of your Realtor.com Web investment. And while
they are turning your Realtor.com presence into a
cash and new deal cow, you are freed up to do what
you love to do —list and sell property. It just
doesn't get any better than that!
But wait, there's more! You see, some of the
VAs chosen for this pilot are part of the
MSVA
(Military Spouse Virtual Assistant) program that I
have previously written about. This means that as
you significantly boost your business generated by
Realtor.com, you also will be helping our military
—particularly important during these uncertain
times.

opportunity and see if you are in one of the pilot
regions (limited availability and strictly first
come, first served during the pilot period), just
