Editing PDFs —Made Easy! ...
Converting documents to PDF is a powerful and
easy way to share just about anything with
anybody. What is not so easy is making
changes to text or graphics directly in a PDF
document. Even the full (and expensive)
version of Adobe Acrobat is clunky at this. Finally here's a very cool, easy to use (and
affordable) tool that lets you change just about
anything within a PDF.
PDFs are a great way to
distribute information that is universally
viewable no matter what software was used to
create the original document. This feature
is what makes using PDFs in our daily business
so attractive.
However, there is nothing
more frustrating than having a PDF that needs
just "one little change" —something that is only
possible by opening the original document in the
program it was created in, making the changes
and then reconverting it back to a PDF, or,
using the full version of Acrobat and hope that
it will allow you to make the change (which it
sometimes doesn't).
Foxit PDFedit To The
Rescue
Now, thanks to Foxit
Software and their new
PDFedit software, editing PDFs is a snap. With it you can edit any text or graphic
elements within a PDF and then save your changed
document as a PDF. You can even add text
and graphics as well.
PDFs can be tricky beasts
because the fonts used within the document may
or may not be "embedded." If the document
uses embedded fonts, then editing text may be a
problem because typically only those characters
used within the document are saved and not the
entire alphabet. If this is the case, you
can simply use a similar font from your own
computer to make the changes.
You can try PDFedit for free
for thirty days (with some restrictions on how
you save your edited documents). As of
this writing this software costs US $99.00 —well
worth the price when you just have to make those
changes on the fly! |
