Our new website
http://thelistingcompany.com has just
launched, and I want to tell you how
invaluable your ePOWER PRO™ book was in
planning and implementing this website.
We went through the
entire "Make Your Site Succeed" section of
the book, really studying the material. If
you pay attention, everything is right there
in the book and you don’t have to re-invent
the wheel. Once you understand the lay of
the land you can focus on one idea at a
time. It provides rich information on how to
provide valuable content for your customers
on your website, and just makes the whole
process much easier.
After studying the book
for months to really absorb the information,
we went through the Action Plans at the end
of each chapter and created lists of things
to do based on what was appropriate for our
market. Then we created bubble charts to map
the site content, and what you see on the
site is essentially the result of what was
in the bubble charts.
Targeting the site is
key, and our site is targeted to the Listing
Company concept, rather than a neighborhood
or segment of the population. In our resort
area market of primarily second homes,
marketing the lifestyle is key, and our
website is an information portal that sells
this lifestyle.
The tone of the site is
that we’re not here to hustle you, we’re
here to help you, and everything on the site
is written with this in mind. Website
visitors can browse and obtain a wealth of
information without giving up their
anonymity.
We’ve done several
things on the website to create unique value
for our customers. The Market Ticker™ is a
unique tool that gives sellers and buyers an
instant read on the current market at a
particular price range. It gives a clear
picture of how long a house may remain on
the market and helps us in discussing
strategy with sellers.
Another feature we call
the “light bulb trail” incorporates the
principle of interactive pages throughout
the site. Visitors can test their own
knowledge of real estate – and also test our
knowledge by asking us questions. When these
questions are emailed to us, we answer them
immediately, and begin to build a direct
relationship with the client.
There are nine
autoresponders throughout the site, and an
automated drip system behind everything.
Many free publications can be accessed from
different areas of the website, including
several newsletters, and buyer and seller
guides.
The “Meet Your
Neighbors” section was a tremendous amount
of work, but it adds a personal touch that
brings the visitor into the community and
further illustrates the Lake Tahoe
lifestyle.
As soon as the website
launched, we began to see people downloading
information within hours.
Bottom line – the book
is really good, and by using it, we didn’t
have to start from scratch. We ended up with
a website that really speaks to our target
market and offers resources they can’t get
anywhere else.
